Because the area, where Bio Gardens is working, is very dry, we established a rain water harvesting project. At the meeting house of Bio Gardens we collect the water from the roof in a big tank which is in the ground so that the water remains cool and therefore also clean. The tank can contain about 14,000 litres of water and when there is a lack of water, the community members of Bio Gardens come and fetch water from there for their home use. We also use this water to water the demonstration garden plants to prevent them from getting dry. So this tank is saving many people in this area and we also want to establish more rain water harvesting systems.
